Day 1 - Day 1 - Arrive Aurangabad… Explore the Ellora CavesUpon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred by private car to the 5-star
Taj Residency. In the afternoon, your private sightseeing tour explores the spectacular cave temples of Ellora. Carved between AD 600 and AD 1000, these 34 rock-cut monasteries and temples were carved side by side into a basalt cliff, extending more than 1.2 miles. The Ellora Caves not only bear witness to three great religions (Buddhism, Brahminical Hinduism and Jainism), but are also a testament to the spirit of tolerance which characterized ancient India and allowed these three religions to establish their sanctuaries in a single place.
Day 2 - Day 2 - Excursion to AjantaYour full-day private sightseeing tour explores one of the world’s greatest masterpieces of religious art. The oldest of the Buddhist cave monuments at Ajanta date back more than 2,000 years, with a second principle group that was carved and decorated in the 5th and 6th centuries during the Gupta era.
